Salt Lake City, UT -- It was the night to honor the seniors of Westminster's women's basketball team on Saturday night.
Ashley Greenwood,
Caitlyn Okerlund , and
Lyndzi Rich all helped the Griffins edge the Cowgirls of New Mexico Highlands 69-62.
After a one-point lead after one quarter of action, but a strong second quarter led by Greenwood who ended her night with 22 points and seven rebounds as the Griffins went into the half leading and scoring 23 points in the quarter.
A strong push by the Cowgirls in the second half closed the gap to single digits as Juliana Aragon led the team in scoring with 16 points helped lead the charge.
With just over two minutes left to play the Griffins had a two-point lead, but key free-throws down the stretch Westminster knocked down all six shots from the line to close out their final game at home in the regular season.
UP NEXT: The Griffins will play their final road games of the year starting at
Colorado Mesa University on Feb. 22.
