Griffins Volleyball Seniors Shine on Senior Night

Salt Lake City, UT - In a poignant Senior Night celebration, Westminster Griffins Volleyball bid farewell to Avery Alger, Olivia Curtis, and Malinda Messner, creating memorable moments off the court. The seniors then translated that emotion into a spectacular performance on the court, securing a clean sweep against Black Hills State University.

The Griffins set the tone early, claiming the first set 25-20 with strategic plays and stellar contributions from the entire team. Set two followed suit, as they dominated with a 25-18 victory, showcasing the seniors' leadership and the team's cohesive play.

A truly historic moment unfolded in the third set when Oliva Curtis notched her 1000th career kill—a testament to her remarkable career and an indelible mark on Westminster Volleyball history.

The Griffins sealed the victory with a 25-21 win in the third set, highlighting their consistency and determination as Breegan Huntsman had the final point of the night. The team collectively hit an impressive .300 percent, demonstrating their offensive prowess. Leila Cornejo orchestrated the plays expertly, contributing a game-high 17 assists.

On the defensive front, Avery Alger and Malinda Messner fortified the net with three total blocks each, showcasing the team's well-rounded skills.
