Salt Lake City, UT - The Westminster Griffins faced a formidable opponent in the Colorado School of Mines, one of the top-ranked teams in the NCAA, on their home turf at Dumke Field. The seniors were honored in what would turn out to be a hard-fought match on Sunday afternoon. The Griffins managed to keep their opponents at bay in the first half, holding them to a scoreless draw.
However, the game took a different turn in the second half when Colorado School of Mines found the back of the net in the 56th and 59th minutes, securing a 2-0 victory for the visiting team.
Despite their best efforts, the Griffins were limited to just six total shots, with only four on target. Goalkeeper Brighton Jakeman made some crucial saves, totaling five for the match. The opposing goalkeeper, Sadie Wolf, stood strong and kept the Griffins from scoring.
The Griffins will now prepare for their final regular-season game, scheduled for Wednesday, November 1, at 6:00 PM. Colorado Mesa is set to visit Dumke Field. Tickets are available on WestminsterGriffins.com, and the match can be watched on the RMAC Network.
