DURANGO, Colo. – Back on December 17, at Westminster College, it was the Westminster Men's basketball who shocked the college basketball scene when they gave then Fort Lewis College their first loss of the season 93-79, but on Saturday night playing at their home court, it was the twelfth-ranked Skyhawks who came away victorious on Saturday night from start to finish 79-63.
Trey Farrer led the team in scoring the contest in Colorado for Westminster, ending his night with 21 points shooting 10-17 from the field and bringing down eight rebounds,
Donaval Avila had one three-pointer with his 14 points on the night in the loss.
It was a good night for the Skyhawks as from the opening tip to the first basket the Griffins never led in the game as Fort Lewis was able to able to hit 12-34 three-point shots on the night, shot 42 percent from the field, and added 13 free-throws in the win.
Akuel Kot was the leading scorer on the night for both teams with 24 points and his teammate JaQuaylon Mays was a man on a mission at home with 13 points and 11 boards to cap off a double-double night for the Skyhawks.
