Salt Lake City, UT - It was the 2022 home-opener as the Westminster Griffins Women's soccer team played their first game of the year on Dumke Field.
The first goal on the campus of Westminster College went to the visiting Seattle Pacific Falcons Chloe Gellhaus who scored the first goal quickly in the first five minutes of play, but less than a minute later the Griffins struck back with a goal of their owm by
Alex Hoffman who evened up the contest at 1-1 as
Alexa Maple found her teammate lined up perfectly near the box from her corner kick.
As the first half continued on a hot day in Utah, Lauren Forster found the back of the net to have the Falcons take the 2-1 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Kim Hendrickson was the Griffin who was able to put the equalizing goal which ended the game in a 2-2 draw.
UP NEXT : The Griffins hit the road and will travel to Idaho as they first will take on
Hawaii Pacific University on Thursday, Sept. 8 and then they will match up with
Northwest Nazarene University on Saturday, Sept 10.
