Denver, CO - The Westminster Griffins saw
Madison Schmidt score the first goal of the game, but a late goal by MSU-Denver saw the game end in a 1-1 tie.
It was a battle in Denver as the first conference game of the year arrived in 2022 and it was a good one to open up the RMAC schedule for the Griffins and Roadrunners.
Schmidt, was the first Griffin to strike the back of the net at the 18:52 mark to give Westminster the early lead which went into the halftime break leading 1-0. In the second half the Griffins held the lead for part of the second half until 51 minutes of play which tied the game up.
UP NEXT: Westminster returns home next week with a matchup with
University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on Sept. 23 as it will be a part of the triple-header at Westminster College and the will be on the RMAC Network.
