Oklahoma City, OK -
Day two began for the Westminster Griffins facing off with Fort Hays State at the Eagle Classic hosted by Oklahoma Christian with the Tigers were able to complete the straight sets (25-21, 25-17 & 25- 20) to defeat the Griffins in the third game of the weekend.
The Senior,
LYDIA PARKINSON (MILLER) once again led the way for the Griffins in kills in the three sets with 13 and added a hitting percentage of .306
Emma Reardon and
Malinda Messner added six kills each.
Griffins did outduel the Tigers in total blocks in the match-up 11-8.
The Second game of the day for Westminster saw them take on the University of Illinois Springfield and they fell in three sets in the final game in the weekend tournament in Oklahoma.
Olivia Curtis and
Malinda Messner each had six kills to lead the Griffins in that stat category and nearly had the third set victory when they fell 26-24.
Volleyball will return to action next weekend as they hit the road once again St Martins Preseason Tournament in Lacey, WA.
