Durango, Colo. - It was a battle back and forth in the RMAC showdown in Colorado, but Westminster sees
Lauren Shoughro score nine goals as the Griffins capture a road conference win in a tight one, 19-18 final over Fort Lewis. Westminster began down early 3-1 in the first period of action, but Shoughro was able to score two of her nine goals in the first period to help the Griffins score the next three goals to end the period with the lead.
The Skyhawks weren't fazed by the Griffins lead as once again in the second period they made a run of their own and as they took the one goal advantage in the second period. Once again, Westminster had a comeback up their sleeve scoring five goals in the final seven minutes of play in the first half to lead 10-8.
Westminster led the whole third period, but the Skyhakws would find a way to regain the lead early in the fourth period with just under 10 minutes to play which was the final time they would lead as the Griffins were able to hold off the home team despite a tie game at 17, Shoghro would break the tie and reclaim the lead for the Griffins.
Eden Freiberg added one of her three goals with the final goal hit to the back of the net on a free position shot which gave the Griffins a two goal advantage and ice the game.
Hannah Kelleher (four goals) helped Westminster add another conference win to their record as Westminster was able to out score the Skyhawks 4-3 and 6-5 in two of the four periods.

Celia Fidanza all hit the back of the net for one goal each.
Hannah Bargeron, was the Goal Keeper and was able to save 12 big shots to add another win to her record as the Griffins goalie.
