Westminster women's basketball won, 76-60, on Thursday night.

SALT LAKE CITY - Ashley Greenwood scored a game-high 28 points and Westminster women's basketball (12-6, 11-3 RMAC) defeated S.D. School of Mines (3-18, 3-12 RMAC), 76-60, on Thursday night at Behnken Field House.

The Griffins knocked down 31-of-66 (47 percent) field goals as a team, their third-consecutive game with 30 or more field goals.  Rae Falatea backed up her strong offensive showing on Tuesday with a 16-point effort in Thursday's win.

Sarah McGinley had 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting and nine rebounds while Hunter Krebs led the Griffins with 10 boards on the night.  Lyndzi Rich also added 10 points and five rebounds out of the Westminster front court.

Westminster scored the final nine points of the game as the Lady Hardrockers got within seven with five minutes to play before Westminster sealed its fifth home win of the season with a pair of Greenwood buckets and a series of late free throws.

After allowing its highest point total since the start of the RMAC season in Tuesday's loss to Colorado Mesa, the Griffins clamped down defensively to hold S.D. School of Mines to just 24-of-68 (35 percent) shooting in Thursday's contest.  Westminster trailed after the first as the Lady Hardrockers knocked down 4-of-8 three's in the opening ten minutes.

The Griffins held School of Mines to just seven total points in the second quarter and led 37-31 at the halftime break. Westminster went on to shoot 12-of-18 (67 percent) as a team in the third quarter, pushing its lead to double digits by the start of the fourth.

Bailey Johnson and Ryan Weiss hit the first two shots of the fourth to cut the lead back to single digits but Greenwood took over late, scoring eight of her game-high 28 in the final frame.

Westminster will have the weekend off as it prepares for its penultimate conference road trip on the regular season beginning with a game against CSU Pueblo on Fri., Feb. 11, before taking on Adams State on Sat., Feb. 12.
