Pueblo, CO - With 3::58 seconds left to play in regulation it was the Thunderwolves of CSU-Pueblo leading by three points and looking to continue their winning streak, but a
Jaycee Lichtie layup cut the lead to one, back-to-back buckets by
Margarita Satini and four straight points at the line by
Ashley Greenwood helped the Westminster Griffins tack on a 10-0 run in the final three minutes of play as the Griffins shocked the Thunderwolves in a 64-56 win to end the 2022 year.
Satini, led the way in scoring for the Griffins in the win as she shot the ball well from the field she ended the night 9-12 with a total of 19 points on the night.
Greenwood and
Lyndzi Rich each added 13 points as the Griffins had three players in double-figures who had 34 points in the paint and their bench players came off the bench to provide 15 points in the win.
Charisse Fairley was the senior on the other side of the floor for the Thunderwolves who was their leading scorer with 13 and brought down 11 rebounds to end the night with a double-double.
UP NEXT
The Griffins will head back to Westminster College as the new year will begin with back-to-back home games, but they will first welcome Colorado Christian University on Jan. 6 on Friday night inside the Behnken Field House.
