Salt Lake City, UT -Head Coach Josh Pittman is excited to announce the signing of three new student-athletes for the 2023 Fall season for Westminster's Men Soccer team.
Zac Levin (Lake Oswego, OR), Colton Crawford (Boise, ID), who will start in the fall, and Jack Epstein (Miami, FL) will begin in January are the three newest members of the Griffins family as they will hit Dumke Field in the fall to begin their next chapter in their young soccer careers.
Let's meet the new Griffins!
Zac Levin (Lake Oswego, OR) is a winger/forward that plays his club soccer with the Oregon Premier 05's team and Lakeridge High School. He was the leading scorer on his state cup-winning club side and was named the TRL high school player of the year for 2022 as well as earning first-team all-state where he was the second leading scorer in the state this past fall.
"Zac was a great pick-up for us as I have watched him play multiple times and he scores and sets up goals at every level I have seen," Pittman said. "Zac will add creativity and speed for us in the final third and I think he will have a big impact on our program."
Colton Crawford (Boise, ID) is a winger/forward that plays his club soccer with the Boise Timbers 04's and played high school at Bishop Kelly. For Bishop Kelly, Crawford led his team to the state finals where they lost in PKs. Colton is a 3x first-team all-state performer and was named the 2020-21 Idaho athlete of the year as a junior. He also has led his Boise Timbers team to multiple state cup championships.
"The first time I saw Colton play as a sophomore, I knew I had to get to him," said Pittman. "Colton is the type of player that possesses something different and can change a game and Colton is going to provide speed and creativity to our front four positions."
Jack Epstein (Miami, FL) is a center midfielder that played his club soccer with the Miami Strikers and high school with Gulliver Prep. He most recently spent time as a trainee in Argentina with Estudiantes de La Plata's U20's and helped lead his Miami Strikers last summer in the USYSA national finals. While at Gulliver Prep, Epstein was first-team all-state and named to the all-county first team twice.
"We are very fortunate to add Jack to our program. I first saw Jack at a platform league showcase, and I could see that his presence on the field was something different," Pittman said of his first-time seeing Jack. "Jack could create through his passing as well as his dribbling. He could also control the tempo of a game which is unique to find. I expect him to have a big impact on our program."
The Griffins finished 10-8-1 and in third place in the highly competitive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Please check back for updates on future signings, camps, and the spring season schedule, and make sure you visit WestminsterGriffins.com and follow the team on social media.
