Azusa, CA - It was a slow start for the Westminster Griffins as they returned to the court after feasting with their friends and family the night before, but a strong second half which included a 19-6 third quarter wasn't enough as
Cal State San Marcos came away with the 59-56 victory on Friday night.
Ashley Greenwood has been the leading scorer all season for Westminster and once again, she led the team in that category where she had 18 points and 10 rebounds to complete the double-double she added three steals on the defensive side of the floor where one came at the end of the game.
The Griffins were down 43-21 at halftime, but a surge in the second half saw the Griffins chip back into the game and held
Cal State San Marcos to just 16 points in the second half of play.
Westminster ended the night shooting 6-16 from the three-point line and shot 39 percent from the field.
