Fairbanks, AK - It was the day after Thanksgiving and the Westminster Griffins headed to Alaska after feasting with family and friends the day before today,
Trey Farrer was the game's leading team scorer with 25 points and added 11 rebounds for his double-double on the day, but it wasn't enough as the Westminster Griffins fell in their first game of two in the state of Alaska as the
University of Alaska Anchorage captured the 81-77 victory on Friday afternoon.
The Griffins trailed 34-38 after the first half came to a close with Farrer leading the way with 13 points for Westminster. The Griffins shot 2-6 from the three-point line and had a team shooting percentage of 45% from the field.
In the second half, the Griffins found their range from beyond the arc as they shot the ball much better shooting 6-9 in the second half of play and as a team shot nearly 60 percent from the field. Two players for the Griffins ended the night in double-figures as Farrer and
Donaval Avila added 19 points and six rebounds.
