Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball goes 0-2 at the Mt. McKinley Bank North Star Invitational

Fairbanks, AK - Pierce Sterling and Taylor Miller found a way to knock down some big three-point shots on Saturday night in Alaska, but despite hitting a few key shots down the stretch, it wasn't enough to have the Westminster Griffins head back to Salt Lake City, UT with a win, as the University of Alaska Fairbanks defeated Westminster 72-65 as the Griffins go 0-2 in the state of "The Last Frontier."

Miller was the leading player to add 17 points on the night after knocking down a late three in the second half.

The Griffins outscored the home team in the second half 38-37, but a slow start to the first half saw Westminster play from behind the second half.

Sterling was the next leading scorer on the night for Westminster as he added 16 points on the night. and Trey Farrer who had a double-double the night before was the next leading scorer for the Griffins as he had another double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

Farrer was named to the All-Tournament Team with his performance during the weekend.

UP NEXT:

The Westminster Griffins now will turn their attention to an exhibition game against the BYU Cougars on Tuesday, Nov. 29 as the two teams will be on a neutral site on the Utah Jazz home court as the game will be played at Vivint Arena
