Salt Lake City, UT - Postseason play has begun as the 2022
RMAC Quarterfinals started at Westminster College as the Griffins and Mountain Lions hit Dumke Field for an RMAC showdown. It was the Captain,
Zach Moss who netted the lone goal of the game, as the defense played a big part late to help the Griffins advance to the next round in the RMAC tournament as they now take the second seed in CSU-Pueblo.
"Tonight was really important for our program getting our first RMAC playoff win since moving to NCAA Division II. We have been here each of our first 5 years so this felt good," said Head Coach
Josh Pittman. "I thought we stuck to our tactics very well and after a while in the first half, we found the ball and eventually that important first goal. CCU has proven that they are a very tough team to play against all year, and they showed that again tonight. I have to tip my hat to Coach Camp and the CCU team for the way they play."
Roark Looney, played the full 90 minutes to help the Griffins advance to the semi-finals of the 2022 RMAC Tournament.
The Griffins will now travel to Pueblo, Colo., where they will take on the tournament's No. 2 seed, CSU Pueblo. In their lone meeting of the season, Westminster and the Pack finished in a 1-1 stalemate in Salt Lake City. The opening kick between the Griffins and the ThunderWolves is slated for 2 p.m. at CSU Pueblo's Art and Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
Each round of the 2022 RMAC Men's Soccer Tournament will be streamed live on the RMAC Network.
"Overall, I like our team's performance tonight," said Pittman. "Now we move on to the next game."
