Spearfish, SD -The Griffins were back on the road once again to being a weekend away from Salt Lake City, UT and the first stop was a visit with Black Hills State as Westminster was able to continue their winning ways with
Madison Schmidt and
Alexa Maple scoring two goals one in each half of play as the Griffins defeated the YellowJackets 2-0 on Friday afternoon.
Maple was the first scorer for the Griffins as she was able to capture the back of the net with a shot at the 30 minute mark to put the Griffins on top 1-0 as the half ended with the same score.
Second half of action began with a score by Schmidt who found a way to fight around the defense and land a shot for the 2 goal lead at the 62 minute to help the Griffins prevail to victory on the road in South Dakota.
Kelsea Cracroft played the full 90 minutes as goalkeeper for Westminster and captured another win in goal to see Westminster improved to their third straight win in conference play.
