SALT LAKE CITY - Sarah McGinley scored a team-high 15 points and
Ashley Greenwood had a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds as Westminster women's basketball (10-5, 9-2 RMAC) defeated Western Colorado (8-8, 6-5 RMAC), 54-41, on Friday night at Behnken Field House.
McGinley's 15 points came on 6-of-9 shooting overall from the senior forward who began the week with eighth-highest shooting percentage in the nation. Greenwood grabbed three offensive boards in the game to go along with her team-high 14 boards.

Hunter Krebs and
Lyndzi Rich had a quiet night in the box score, combining for 13 points and seven rebounds, but helped hold Western's leading scorer, Grace Kirscher, to just 2 points for the game and an 0-of-7 shooting night.
The 41 points for Western was a season-low for a Griffins' opponent as Westminster led 28-14 at halftime on Friday night. The Griffins bounced back from a sluggish start on offense in the first with 9-of-13 (69 percent) shooting overall in the second quarter.
On the defensive end of the floor, Westminster held the Mountaineers to just 2-of-14 shooting (14.2 percent) overall and Western finished the opening quarter with just six points to show after going four full minutes before its first bucket of the game.
Western opened the second half on a 6-2 run to get back within a possession, but the Griffins continued to build on their stifling defensive effort and held the Mountaineers to just 4-of-13 shooting in the second quarter.
Westminster opened up an 18-point lead midway through the third quarter and finished the game with 36 points in the paint.
Westminster will be back on its home court tomorrow night hosting Fort Lewis College tipping-off at 5 p.m.
