DURANGO, Colo.—The Griffins controlled possession and out shot the Skyhawks, 12-7, in a 1-1 draw on the road. Dominique scored in the second half from a free kick to score her first goal as a Griffin.

Both teams recorded three shots in the first half. Goalkeeper
Naomi Kehl made three saves for the Griffins and Katie Dunbabin made one save to keep the score at zero.
With the wind in their back for the second half, the Griffins managed seven shots, five more than Fort Lewis. Estrada scored from a free kick at the top of the penalty box to put the Griffins in front in the 74
th minute. Fort Lewis scored 13 minutes later to send the game into overtime.
Westminster and Fort Lewis managed two shots each in the overtime periods but were unable to find the back of the net to take the full three points.
Kelsea Cracroft and Kehl split time in the goal and faced seven shots with seven on goal. Kehl made five saves—three in the first half and two in overtime.
The Griffins begin their conference season on the road next weekend at Colorado Mesa on Sunday, Mar. 21, at 12 pm.
