LUBBOCK, Texas - Saydi Anderson crossed the finish line at 21:13.50, the fastest time at the NCAA South Central Regional meet in program history, and Westminster women's cross country finished in 10th-place as a team, the highest team finish in program history, on Saturday morning at the Chaparral Ridge Cross Country Course.
Women's 6K:
Anderson finished 15th overall in the women's 6k race, beating the previous best time at the South Central Regional of 24:00.04 by over two and a half minutes.
All six Westminster runners outran the previous best time by over a minute as
Amanda Lee (22:27.10) and
Josii Johnson (22:32.50) finished in 58th and 60th, respectively. The Griffins had an average time of 22:22 and total of time 2:14.51, both program highs at the South Central Regional 6k event.

In the first 10k race of the year,
Riley McCarter ran a 34:42.08 for Westminster while
Thomas Maxfield finished at 35:05.65.

Since only three runners that finished ahead of 15th-placed Anderson not receiving automatic qualifying spots at the NCAA Championships, she will be in position to receive one of the eight individual at-large selections.
