VICTORIA, Kan. - Saydi Anderson ran a time of 17:50.21 to finish third overall and Westminster women's cross country finished in first-place as a team with an average time of 18:32 at the Tiger Open in Victoria, Kan. The Griffins had five runners finish in the top-35, scoring 99 as a group, on Saturday morning to top the field of 17 Division II schools competing at the annual meet hosted by Fort Hays State.
This year's record-breaking field of 17 teams in attendance at the Tiger Open included four nationally ranked teams and six regionally ranked teams.
Courtney McAlindon came through in 13th with a time of 18:22 and
Hannah Rohrer-Fitzhugh followed close behind in 22nd in 18:36.
Amanda Lee and
Emily Worline finished contributing personal bests, respectively 32nd and 35th, with times of 18:50 and 18:57.
Josii Johnson came through as the Griffins' sixth runner, 58th overall with a time of 19:28. All 6 Griffins finished in the top 3rd of competitors.
The meet was the last before conference as Westminster will now turn its attention to the 2021 RMAC Conference Championships which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Applewood Golf Course in Golden, Colo. Qualifying participants will then move onto the NCAA South Central Region meet in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday, Nov. 6.
