SALT LAKE CITY - Westminster women's cross country will travel east this weekend to compete in the ninth-annual 2021 FHSU Tiger Open at the Sand Plum Nature Trail in Victoria, Kan.
This year's ninth edition of the Tiger Open is slated to be the largest in meet history with 785 individuals from 40 different schools set to compete across the four races. This year's field will consist of 25 ranked programs across the NCAA DII, NAIA and NJCAA, and includes RMAC competitors from second-ranked Colorado School of Mines, third-ranked Adams State, and No. 21 Colorado Christian.
The Griffins' lineup, coming off of a first-place finish in the Maverick Invitational back on Sept. 25, will compete in the women's 5K gold race at 9:25 a.m. (MDT), the third of four races on the day.
The women's five-kilometer course record belongs to Georgia Porter of Western State, who traversed the course in 16:33 in 2016.

Courtney McAlindon continued to set the pace for the Westminster women's team at the Maverick Invitational and finished first in the field with a time 18:39.61.
- McAlindon and teammate,
Saydi Anderson, led all runners at 6:00/mile pace to help the women finish with the best team score (30) at CMU.
- Anderson finished with a time of 18:41.06 as her and McAlindon crossed the finish line more than 20 seconds ahead of the next-closest runner.

Emily Worline was the next Westminster runner to finish the Maverick Invitational 5k, finishing at 19:25.20 (6:15/mile).
- Josi Johnson also paced under 6:30/mile and finished her race at CMU with a time of 19:42.93.

Following this weekend's race, Westminster will turn its attention to the 2021 RMAC Conference Championships which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Applewood Golf Course in Golden, Colo. Qualifying participants will then move onto the NCAA South Central Region meet in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday, Nov. 6.
