GOLDEN, Colo. - Saydi Anderson finished the women's 6k at 22:43.5 to finish 14th overall as Westminster women's cross country finished in seventh-place as a team on Saturday at the 2021 RMAC Cross Country Championships at Applewood Golf Course. Westminster's men ran an average time of 34:31 to finish 14th in the men's 8k to conclude the 2021 conference meet.
Women's 6K Recap:
Anderson's team-leading 6:05.5 average mile put her less than a minute and a half behind individual RMAC Champion Brianna Robles from Adams State who finished at 21:18.4.
The Griffins were one of just five teams to have five runners in the top-50 as
Josii Johnson was next through the finish line for Westminster, running an average mile of 6:25.1 to finish 41st overall at 23:56.4.
Hannah Rohrer-Fitzhugh finished just behind Johnson at 24:02.6 in 44th position and
Amanda Lee (24:16.6) and
Emily Worline (24:22.4) finished the race in 49th and 50th overall, respectively.
Men's 8k Recap:
Riley McCarter led the Westminster men's team for a second straight meet, finishing at 29:06.1 with an average mile of 5:51.3.
Thomas Maxfield finished second amongst Westminster runners with a 29:50.8.
Andrew Ross (30:37.2) and Taylor Mack (30:52.1) finished 114th and 115th, respectivley, while
Blake Wittstock came across the finish line at 31:52.1 to conclude the men's 8k race for the Griffins.

With the conference meet now in the rearview, Westminster will look ahead to the 2021 NCAA South Central Regional Meet will be held in Lubbok, Texas, on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 8 a.m. The top three teams at each regional meet will automatically qualify for the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Tampa Bay, Fla., on Nov. 20.
