SALT LAKE CITY - Westminster volleyball (3-14, 1-7 RMAC) gets set to host its next two RMAC opponents this weekend as it takes on South Dakota Mines (8-8, 2-6 RMAC) on Friday night at 6 p.m. and Black Hills State (3-14, 1-7 RMAC) on Saturday at 4 p.m.

About the Griffins:
- The Griffins narrowly missed sending Wednesday night's home match vs. Texas A&M Kingsville into a fifth set, falling 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 25-17, 26-24) to begin the week.
- Westminster won the first set 25-22 after hitting a match-high .227 and holding the Javelinas to just .122 offensively in the opening set.
- The Griffins had set point in the four, leading 24-23, but dropped the final three sets in a 26-24 set that ended the match.

Katie Jacox is third in the RMAC in total aces with 26 (.38 a/s) so far this season and Westminster ranks fifth in the conference as a team with 1.69 aces/set.
- Westminster also ranks fifth in digs at 14.93 digs/set.

About the Hardrockers:
- Westminster is 3-3 all-time against South Dakota Mines winning the last match between the two sides, 3-2, at home back in March.
- South Dakota Mines begins the week on a three-match losing skid after going 0-2 last weekend with 3-0 home losses to second-ranked MSU Denver and Colorado Christian.
- The Hardrockers are 3-2 overall away from home this season including their first RMAC win of the season at Chadron State back on Sept. 25 which they won, 3-1, in Chadron, Neb.
- Addie Stanley (3.98 d/s) and Emma Grimm (3.69 d/s) rank ninth and 13th in the RMAC, respectively, in digs.
- The Hardrockers are sixth in the RMAC in opponent hitting percentage (.175) and are second in the conference in digs at 17.36 digs/set.
- S.D. Mines ranks 11th, just ahead of Westminster, in hitting percentage (.152) this season and rank seventh in assists (10.98) as a team.
About the Yellow Jackets:
- Westminster is 2-4 all-time against BHSU but have dropped the last two, both in five sets. The Griffins' last win came in four sets on the road in Spearfish, S.D., back in 2018.
- Black Hills State went 1-2 over a three-match home stretch with its lone win coming in straight sets over Colorado Christian last Friday. BHSU was taken out in straights by second-ranked MSU Denver in its last match this past Saturday.
- The Yellow Jackets defeated South Dakota Mines, 3-0, in their first RMAC match of the season but have since dropped five of its last six conference matches.
- Black Hills State have allowed the most aces to opponents at 1.77 aces/set. They rank sixth in digs at 14.93 d/s as Haedyn Rhoades ranks fourth individually at 4.47 d/s.
- Setter Karly Marx ranks eighth in the conference with 7.28 assists/set and Madison Hoopman is eighth in the RMAC with 3.19 kills/set.
- Peyton Bodemann ranks 12th in the RMAC with .89 blks/set.
