Regular Season Concludes at Home With In-State Rivals

SALT LAKE CITY—RMAC women's basketball regular season concludes this weekend at the Behnken Field House as in-state rivals Westminster and Dixie State meet Friday, Feb. 28, at 5:30 pm.
 
The Griffins defeated Regis and Colorado Christian over the weekend to secure a top four spot in the RMAC and will host a quarter-final game on Tuesday, Mar. 3. A win over Dixie will secure third place for the Griffins but a loss could drop them to fourth if Colorado School of Mines wins their game against University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
 
History & Previous Meeting
The Griffins and Trailblazers began the RMAC season in St. George, Utah, in Burns Arena. Mariah Martin led all scorers with 22 points and led the Griffins to a 63-59 win over her former team.
 
Westminster and Dixie have met nine times since 2006. The Griffins are 7-2 in the series and undefeated at home, 4-0.
 
In Conference
In the RMAC the Griffins rank fifth in offense (66.2) and third in defense (57.4). Dixie ranks sixth in offense (65.1) and seventh in defense (59.4).
 
The Griffins rank first in the conference in field goal percentage (.451) and three-point field goal percentage (.366). The Griffins are second in free throws (.785) and assists (14.07). Dixie ranks second in field goal percentage (.406), sixth in three-point percentage (.324) and ninth in free throws (.705).
 
Westminster
Mariah Martin, Hunter Krebs and Sarah McGinley are Westminster's top three scorers. Martin is tied-sixth in the RMAC averaging 15.7 points per game, Krebs is ninth with 15.5 and McGinley is 13th at 13.0. Krebs leads the conference in field goal percentage (.602) and McGinley is second in three-point field goal percentage (.442).
 
On the defensive side, Kaitlin Toluono is fourth in the RMAC in rebounds and leads the Griffins with 8.6 rebounds per game. Kaylee Carlsen leads the team with 39 steals and Krebs leads the team with 29 blocked shots.

Trailblazers
Ali Franks leads the Trailblazers in scoring and is 12th in conference, averaging 13.0 points per game. Madi Loftus is second on the team averaging 11.0 points per game and Keslee Stevenson is third at 9.0.
 
Chesney Stevens and London Pavlica lead the teams on the boards. Stevens averages 6.8 rebounds per game and Pavlica averages 6.7. Pavlica leads the team in steals with 37 and Stevens leads the team in blocked shots with 26.
