SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster women's basketball used a 29-6 second-half spurt to turn a five-point halftime lead into a blowout victory over Adams State on Saturday night at Behnken Field House.
Rian Rawlings scored 16 points on just six shots from the field, including four 3-pointers.
Hunter Krebs also scored 16 points and added nine rebounds.
The Griffins (19-6, 14-5 RMAC) opened the second half with an 11-2 run, fueled by six points from
Sarah McGinley and a 3-pointer from Krebs. McGinley scored all eight of her points in the third quarter, as Westminster entered the final period up by 15.
The Griffins scored the first 13 points of the fourth quarter to stretch the lead to 57-29. The lead grew as large as 35.
Mariah Martin added 12 points for the Griffins, Kailtin Toluono had a game-high 10 rebounds and
Kaylee Carlsen recorded four steals.
The Grizzlies' Marshell Hollins led all scorers with 19 points.
Westminster hits the road next weekend against Colorado Christian on Friday, Feb. 21, and Regis on Saturday, Feb. 22. Both games are scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m. MT and will be streamed on the
RMAC Network.
