CHADRON, Neb.—
Joey Andrews grabbed his first double-double in Westminster's road-loss to Chadron State. Andrews led all players with a season-high 16 rebounds and led the Griffins, along with Jarret Jordan, with 13 points.
Late turnovers plagued the Griffins in the final minutes of tonight's game as the Eagles went on a 14-6 run to win 66-60. Leading by four, 56-52, with four minutes remaining, the Griffins committed five turnovers leaving the door open for Chadron to take the lead for the win.
The Griffins outscored the Eagles 40-20 in the paint but were outscored 33-9 from three. Westminster shot 48.1% percent from the field and 33.3% from three with only nine attempts beyond the arc. Chadron State shot 45.1% from the field and 39.3% on 28 attempts from three.
Andrews and Jordan each had 13 points to lead the team in scoring. Andrews was 5-11 from the field, 1-2 from three and 2-5 from the free throw line. Jordan was 6-9 from the field and 1-2 from three.
