Griffins Hit the Road, Look for First Conference Win
Westminster women's volleyball (2-7, 0-2 RMAC) continues its conference slate with two games on the road this weekend, facing Colorado Mesa on Friday, September 27 at 7 p.m. and Western State on Saturday, September 28 at 5 p.m.
Scouting the Griffins
After winning two of their first three games, the Griffins have lost seven in a row and are looking to get their first conference win.
Audrey Green leads the team with 99 kills, and
Lydia Miller has 86.
Sydnee Simmons has 62 kills and has a team-high .349 hitting percentage.
Aggie Roese-Olsen has 146 assists and
Hannah Stearman has 133 digs.
Scouting the Competition
Colorado Mesa (6-5, 2-1 RMAC) has started conference play strong, with sweeps of New Mexico Highlands and Western, and a five-set loss to CSU-Pueblo. Kasie Gilfert leads the team with 157 kills and 35 blocks. Ara Norwood has 237 assists.
Western (6-5, 2-1 RMAC) has won four of five and is enjoying a strong stretch of play after starting the season 1-3. Jordyn Todd leads the attack with 118 kills Hanna Hendrickson has 350 assists.
Week in Review
The Griffins opened RMAC play with a pair of home losses to South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State. Westminster was competitive in both matches, and pushed Black Hills State to five sets in the loss.
Westminster Women's Volleyball at a Glance
The Griffins are coming off a 7-19 season in 2018 and have a new coach heading in 2019.
Karrin Moore enters her first season with Westminster, coming from Pace University (NCAA Division II) in New York where she served as head coach for nine seasons.
