PROVO-Utah--The men's and women's cross country teams ran against BYU, Weber State and Dixie State at the BYU Autumn Classic at the East Bay Golf Course. The women competed in a 5K race, followed by the men in a 7K race.
BYU's men and women finished first in both races. The men swept the competition with a perfect score of 15 and the women won with 28 points. Westminster's men and women finished fourth with 110 and 115 points respectively.
Freshman
Courtney McAlindon led the Griffins for the second race in a row. McAlindon finished 41st in 20:26.8. Sophomore
Hannah Rohrer-Fitzhugh was hot on her heels finishing one second behind in 42nd.
Juniors DJ Matthews and Tony Nickerson swapped places from the previous race. Matthews finished 36th in 23:37.6 and Nickerson finished 37th, just two seconds behind Matthews.
The Griffins have a couple of weeks to prepare for the ISU Invite in Pocatello, Idaho, on Sept. 28.
