Salt Lake City – It was a night the Griffins hoped for after a tough loss the night before, as the Westminster Griffins bounced back on Saturday night when they defeated the Western State Colorado University 88-61.
A fast start for the Griffins in the first half of play was the difference of the night. Outscoring the Mountaineers 45-29 after 20 minute of action the Griffins never looked back as they cruised to their seventh conference victory of the season.
Jake Connor led the way to victory with five three pointers as he ended the night with 22 points and added three assists. Connor wasn't't the lone player in double digits on the score sheet where
Brandon Warr scored 11 points of his own and 10 rebounds to give him a double-double on the night.,
Jacob McCord went 7-8 from the field and rebounds to go with his 14 points and
Jai Jai Ely went 2-3 from three and ended the night with 15 points.
Next up for the Griffins they will look for back to back conference wins for the first time since Jan. 11 and Jan. 12 when they travel Fort Lewis on Friday night Feb. 15 with tip-off at 7:30 MDT. The following night the Griffins will end the road trip at Adams State University with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 MDT as the Grizzlies will host the Griffins.
