Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster men's basketball fell to Lake Superior State 75-71 in the Griffins' final non-conference game Saturday night at Behnken Field House.
Trailing 16-12, the Lakers went on a 29-8 run to take a 15-point lead, and went into halftime with a 15-point advantage led by Brandon Allen's 13 first-half points.
The Griffins chipped away throughout the second half, and used a 7-1 run to get within a point at 66-65 with 2:42 left. The Lakers responded with a 3-pointer from Nigel Colvin to restore a 4-point lead, and got another three from Ke'Montrece Collins and made foul shots to ice the game down the stretch.
Alec Monson led the Griffins with 17 points.
Brandon Warr posted a monster double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds, and
Jai Jai Ely added 15 points.
Westminster begins RMAC play next Saturday at Dixie State. The game will be streamed live on the
RMAC Network.
