NAMPA, Idaho - Westminster women's basketball completed an undefeated weekend and improved to 4-0 with a 72-64 victory over Northwest Nazarene, led by 22 points each from
Sarah McGinley and
Hunter Krebs.
In the third quarter, McGinely scored 11 straight points for the Griffins as part of a 13-2 run to stretch a one-point lead to nine. That run proved decisive, as the Westminster lead never grew larger than 11 or smaller than 6.
The Griffins snapped NNU's 21-game home winning streak dating back to Jan. 9, 2018.
McGinley and Krebs added 8 and 7 rebounds, respectively. The duo made six 3-pointers and shot 16 for 25 in a dominant combined offensive effort.
Mariah Martin scored 9 points and recorded 5 assists, and
Kaitlin Toluono added 8 points and 7 rebounds.
The Griffins have won four straight to start the 2019-20 season, and will head to Anchorage, Alaska next weekend to take on the Alaska - Fairbanks on Friday, Nov. 22 and Alaska - Anchorage on Saturday, Nov. 23. Westminster starts conference play on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Dixie State.
