COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Westminster women's soccer fell, 3-0, to the no.1 ranked UCCS Mountain Lions.
"We fought hard and had some great chances but couldn't finish," Head Coach
Tony LeBlanc said. "A tough loss but we'll be ready for Sunday."
The Griffins took five first half shots and the Mountain Lions took six. The Griffins fell behind in the 26th minute after Shanade Hopcroft found the back of the net from outside the penalty box.
The home side scored its second goal in the 57th minute. Trailing by two the Griffins pushed numbers forward looking for an equalizer. UCCS goalkeeper made three save to deny the Griffins as they recorded five second half shots. The Mountain Lions caught Westminster on a counter attack to score a third goal in the 86th minute.

Hillary Weixler faced 13 shots and made four saves. Savannah Allred,
McKell Kellogg and
Emma Heyn each recorded a shot on goal.
The Griffins are back in action on Sunday at 12 pm at MSU Denver.
