SALT LAKE CITY, Utah--Westminster women's soccer (5-3-2, 2-3-1 RMAC) lost to 16th ranked Colorado School of Mines (10-1-1, 6-0-1).
"Tonight was a tough loss," Head Coach
Tony LeBlanc said. "We picked it up in the second half but started flat much to our demise."
The game was pretty even. Westminster recorded seven shots wiht one on goal and faced nine with four on goal. They earned four corner kicks and conceded none to the Orediggers.
Mines scored in the 20th minute. A cross to the left post was headed down in front of the path of Chaney Brugman who placed the ball into the left side netting.
The Griffins increased the pressure in the second half hunting for an equalizer. The Griffins shot three times and earned three corner kicks but failed to find the mark.
Hillary Weixler made three saves and
Sarah Reiber recorded the only shot on goal for the Griffins.
Westminster will be back in action on Sunday at 2:30 pm against Colorado Christian University.
