GOLDEN, Colo.-The Westminster women's basketball team (8-2, 6-0 RMAC) got off to a positive start to begin 2019 with a win on the road over Colorado School of Mines (5-6, 2-4 RMAC).

It was a close game through three quarters. Westminster lead by three points through the first quarter. The Orediggers got one point back in the second and the third quarter was a push, both teams scoring 13.  Westminster outscored the home side by nine points in the fourth to win, 61-50.

The Griffins finished 19-51 from the field, making 5-15 from beyond the arc, and making 18-24 from the free throw line.

Kaitlin Toluono led the team with 17 points.Â
Hunter Krebs and
Sicilee Williams each scored 13 points.

Krebs pulled down 12 defensive rebounds for the double-double. Toluono totaled 10 rebounds, seven on the defensive end.
