LAKEWOOD, Colo.—The Griffins have been good at home (4-1) but have struggled on the road (0-6) in conference play.  The men's basketball team (6-9, 4-7 RMAC) fell at Colorado Christian (CCU) on Saturday.
 
Westminster and CCU battled fiercely in the first half with six ties and 10 lead changes.  Jacob McCord and Brandon Warr combined for Westminster's final 16 points of the first half and to tie the game 37-37.
 
The Griffins tied the game five times but were unable to take a significant lead that lasted during the second half.  Westminster came within three points with two minutes remaining.  The shots didn't fall as the Griffins went 3-7 from the field and 0-3 from beyond the arc and CCU closed the game out 10-12 from the free throw line to defeat Westminster, 86-77.
 
McCord led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.  Warr scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  Jai Jai Ely recorded fifteen points.
 
The Griffins are on the road next week at Western state and Colorado Mesa.
