DENVER, Colo.—Despite shooting a season high 62.7 percent from the field and making nine threes, the men's basketball team (6-8, 4-6 RMAC) were defeated on the road at Regis (11-5, 8-2 RMAC), 77-76, in the final seconds.
Alec Monson had a tremendous night leading all scorers with a career high 27 points. Monson went 9-14 from the field, 7-10 from beyond the arc, grabbed seven rebounds and led the Griffins with six assists
Westminster trailed by eight after a slow start in the first 10 minutes. The Rangers were scoreless for seven minutes as Monson scored nine points to lead the Griffins on a 24-5 run to finish the half with a nine-point lead, 40-31.
The second half was a battle for the final 10 minutes after Regis tied the score, 60-60. The teams were never separated by more than three points in the final ten minutes with five ties and seven lead changes in the final ten minutes of play.
A Monson Layup looked destine to send the game to overtime tied, 76-76, with five seconds remaining. A foul on Regis's Christian Little sent him to the line and he scored 1-2 to defeat the Griffins, 77-76.

Jai Jai Ely all scored in double-digits. McCord recorded 12 points, Warr scored 11 and Ely had 10.
Warr grabbed eight rebounds to lead the team and Ely grabbed four.
The Griffins finish the weekend at Colorado Christian tomorrow night.
