SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—The Westminster women's basketball team recorded its largest win of the season over Chadron State, 82-46.
Westminster dominated the second quarter by holding the Eagles to two points and scoring 23 points for a 26-point first half lead. They increased their lead by seven through the third quarter and three more during the fourth.
Westminster outscored Chadron State 30-12 in the paint and recorded 13 steals for 18 points off turnovers.
The Griffins finished 45.9 percent from the field, made 10-15 from three-point range and made 16-23 from the free throw line.
Olivia Elliss led the Griffins with 17 points and was one rebound away from a double-double with nine boards.
Kaylee Carlsen scored 13 points and shot 3-3 from three on the night.
Rian Rawlings and
Kaitlin Toluono each scored 12 points off the bench.
Hillary Weixler grabbed 11 rebounds and recorded six steals to lead Westminster's defensive efforts.
Denise Gonzalez grabbed six rebounds and
Sara Weixler collected five boards.
The Griffins host MSU Denver at 5:30 pm on Saturday in the Behnken Field House.
