RAPID CITY, S.D.--Westminster men's basketball completed a sweep of the South Dakota schools, defeating South Dakota School of Mines, 76-43.
 
Westminster was ice cold to begin the game, scoring only two points in the first five minutes of the game.  Patience paid off for the Griffins as they took the lead away from the Hardrockers on a Quincy Bair jumper, with 12:32 remaining.  Westminster outscored the home side by ten points over those remaining minutes for a 34-22 lead. 
 
Westminster was 9-9 from the free throw line and 46.2 percent from the field.  Bair scored eight points to lead the team at half, Jarred Laws and Sam Orchard each had five, and Tanner Newbold, Travis Devashrayee, Dayon Goodman and Mason Smith each had four.
 
Westminster continued to build off of the momentum it had from the first half, finishing the game, 76-43, defeating the Hardrockers.
 
Westminster finished the game shooting 48.3 percent to the Hardrocker's 29.1 percent.  Westminster made 6-13 three-pointers and were perfect from the free throw line on 12 attempts.  The team scored 34 points in the paint, 13 points off turnovers, and out rebounded South Dakota 42-28
 
Bair and Goodman each scored 22 points to lead the team the in scoring.  Bair scored 14 points in the second half to add to his eight points in the first half, marking a game high in points and field goals made this season. 
 
Goodman scored 18 second half points, 12 in a row for the Griffins in a six minute period.  He led the team in rebounds, collecting 12.  This marks his seventh double-double of the season, six of those coming against conference opponents.
 
Bair pulled down six rebounds, and Orchard, Newbold and Devashrayee each tallied five.
 
The next games for the Griffins will be at home on Friday against MSU Denver, and Saturday against University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.  Both games are scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on the RMAC Network.  Tickets are available to purchase online in advance, or prior to the game at the door.  The game will also be available to follow on live stats.
