ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Westminster men's lacrosse team rallied to force overtime before falling at Adams State, 11-10, on Sunday afternoon in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.

Westminster (3-4, 3-2 RMAC) forced the extra period when
Troy Vance scored a man-down goal with five seconds left in regulation. Adams State (4-3, 3-2 RMAC) won the faceoff in overtime, and then Emmitt MacFarlane scored the game-winner just 42 seconds into the period.

Adams State had a 7-5 lead – the largest lead of the game by either team – early in the fourth quarter when the Griffins ran off four of the game's next five goals to take a 9-8 lead with 5:13 to play. MacFarlane then scored twice for the Grizzlies to put the home side ahead 10-9 with 2:07 to play and setup the late Vance goal.

The Griffins took 43 shots in the game with 28 of them on cage. They allowed ASU 53 shots and the Grizzlies won 15 of 25 faceoffs and had a 27-18 advantage in ground balls.

Vance scored three goals in the loss to lead the Griffins.
Thomas Sarjeant had a five-point afternoon by scoring two goals and recording three assists.

Westminster forced 17 turnovers by ASU with
Jacob Taylor leading the team with two caused turnovers.
Dalton Tuor won 10 faceoffs.

Conner McFarlane made 12 saves in cage for the Griffins.

The Grizzlies got 18 saves in cage from Connor Johnson and MacFarlane led them with his three goals.
