COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Westminster women's lacrosse team returned to action by cruising to a 21-4 win at University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Saturday afternoon in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener for each team.

Westminster (3-1, 1-0 RMAC) raced out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back as they took a 15-2 lead into halftime. The Griffins advantage would reach 18-2 with 17:50 to play in the second half before UCCS (3-1, 0-1 RMAC) notched a couple of goals. Westminster would then tally the final three goals of the contest to secure the road win in the fist-ever RMAC game for UCCS.

Katie Adams anchored the Griffins effort with five goals on the day. Her fifth goal with 3:01 remaining in the contest gave her 100 career points as a Griffin and made her seventh player in school history to reach the milestone.

Morgan Bakarich also finished with a five-point day after scoring three goals and getting two assists.
Kira Heiden added four goals while
Madison Ingman and
Hanah Webster scored three goals apiece.

The Griffins controlled much of the action against the first-year program, holding a 31-8 edge in shot attempts and putting 29 of those shots on cage. They had a 17-9 advantage in draw controls and forced 15 Mountain Lions turnovers while committing a season-low five.

Taylor Hekking earned the win in goal with two saves in 17 minutes.
Caitlyn Laffey played the final 43 minutes and made one save.

Grace Quinn and Vanessa Nelson scored two goals each for UCCS.
