OGDEN – The women's basketball team (1-2) played Weber State (2-1) in an exhibition game.  Westminster battled well with a strong third and fourth quarter but were unable to overcome a low scoring first half. 
 
There were plenty of rebounds between the teams, 23 total, as both teams had difficulty scoring during the first quarter.  Westminster scored two 3-pointers out of 16 shots and Weber state scored two free throws and three field goals out of 12 attempts.
 
The Griffins were within one point of the Wildcats With 4:17 left in the second quarter.  Weber State made a 15-to-2 run to finish the half with a 14-point lead going into halftime.
 
Max Shelley, 
Sydnee Taylor and Hunter Krebs combined for thirteen points, and a seven point run from 
Sicilee Williams decreased the Wildcat lead to five at the end of the third quarter.
 
The Griffins continued to battle through the fourth quarter but were unable to overcome the Wildcat lead before the buzzer sounded to end the game.
 
Williams, Taylor and Shelley each scored in double digits for the Griffins.  Taylor led the team in scoring with 17 points.  Shelley added 12 and Williams contributed 11.
 
Krebs led the team in rebounding with 10.  
Denise Gonzalez collected six rebounds and had six assists, leading the team in assists.
 
Westminster finished shooting 40.0 percent from the field, going 7-23 from beyond the arc, and perfect from the free throw line going 7-7.  Westminster was outscored 26 to 38 in the paint and only had four points from the bench.

Westminster plays Dixie State (3-2) on Friday. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. and will be available on
