Griffins Home for Two This Weekend
The Westminster men's basketball team is back in the Behnken Field House this weekend as they host a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games. The Griffins will host Colorado Christian on Friday before Colorado School of Mines comes to town on Saturday.
The action begins at 7 p.m. MST on Friday. That is 30 minutes earlier than the normal scheduled Westminster home games. They return to a 7:30 p.m. MST tipoff on Saturday. Tickets for both games are available at WestminsterGriffins.com/tickets. Youth can receive free admission by wearing their recreation league jersey to Saturday's game.
Both of the weekend's game will also be broadcast live on the RMAC Network. Mike Lageschulte calls the play-by-play and is joined by head coach

About the Griffins
Westminster returns home at 4-5 overall this season and looking to snap a two-game losing skid. They are 4-3 in RMAC action and currently side in a tie for sixth in the conference standings. The Griffins have gone 2-0 in countable home games and 5-0 overall at home this season.

Westminster has tallied 37 blocked shots as a team this season with multiple blocks in eight of their nine games played. They currently rank second in the RMAC by blocking 4.1 shots per game, an average that would set a new school record. The team is on pace for 99 blocks this season which would be a new school record.
Immediate Impact
Junior
Dayon Goodman has made an immediate impact on the team during his first year with the program. Goodman currently leads the Griffins in scoring at 15.6 points per game while grabbing a team-best 6.9 rebounds per game. He has scored in double figures seven times this season with a pair of 20-point outings. Goodman shoots 51.1 percent from the field and is second in the RMAC by blocking 1.6 shots per game.
Mr. Everything
After leading the team in scoring and being named second team all-conference last season,
Zerrion Payton is scoring 13.6 points per game this season. He leads the Griffins with 36 assists and has added 49 rebounds, 11 steals, and five blocked shots. Payton has scored in double figures seven times this season and had 23 points at Fort Lewis on December 17.
Travis for Three
Travis Devashrayee has been a spark for the Griffins off the bench this season. The sophomore is currently scoring 7.8 points per game while making 12 triples. Devashrayee leads the RMAC in 3-point field goal percentage at 66.7 percent. He has a run of six straight makes from beyond the arc snapped with a miss on his only attempt at Colorado Mines on December 30.
