ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Westminster men's soccer team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 1-0 win at Adams State in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on Friday afternoon.

After neither team could find a goal in the opening 45 minutes, Westminster (2-6, 1-4 RMAC) took the lead in the 60th minute on a tally from
Jordan Jones.
Cristian Alfaro set up the first goal of the season for Jones on his second assist of the campaign.

The Griffins would hold on for the win as they held off four shots from Adams State (4-5, 1-4) in the closing 30 minutes while taking two shots themselves.

Alfaro had a chance to give Westminster the lead in the second minute, but his shot hit the crossbar. That was one of 14 shots the team had in the win and they fought off 15 from the home side.

Alfaro and Conner Thompson took three shots apiece to lead the Griffins with Thompson and
Matthew Warne getting two shots on goal.

Max Medley secured his second win of the season. He made six saves to notch his first career shutout.

The Griffins will now return home for a game against Fort Lewis on Sunday. That game will begin at 1 p.m. and start a three-game homestand for the Griffins. Tickets for all Westminster home games are available at
