SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's soccer team fell to No. 10 Regis, 3-0, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play at Dumke Field on Sunday afternoon.

Westminster (1-6, 0-4 RMAC) fell behind in the 24th minute when Ryan Urwiller headed in a corner kick from Porter Milner to give Regis (7-0, 4-0) tine 1-0 lead. The Rangers extended to a 2-0 lead in the 40th minute as Nick Frank finished another feed from Milner.

The game hit the halftime break with that 2-0 score line and Regis holding an 11-0 edge in shot attempts. The visiting side would notch the game's final tally in the 53rd minute as a cross from Sawyer Lincoln took a deflection from a Westminster defender and went into the goal.

The best shot for the Griffins came in the 51st minute as
Blaze Nelson lofted the ball from 40 yards away that had to be directed aside by the Regus keeper at the last moment. Westminster got four shots in the second half and put three on goal.

Regis finished with 19 shots and eight on goal. They also had a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Max Medley took the loss in goal from the Griffins with three goals allowed and two saves in 75 minutes.
Sean Speirs made three saves in his 15 minutes of time.

The Griffins will return to action on Friday when they face Adams State in Alamosa, Colo. That game begins at 3:30 p.m. They will be home to face Fort Lewis on October 2 at 1 p.m.
