Westminster Opens Three-Game Homestand
The Westminster women's soccer team returns home this weekend to host the first two of three straight home games at Dumke Field. The Griffins welcome Western State Colorado to town on Friday at 1 p.m. They will then host UCCS on Sunday at noon.

Both games are scheduled to be broadcast on the RMAC Network, weather permitting. Live stats will also be available during the action. Links for all live features are available at WestminsterGriffins.com/live.
 
About the Griffins
Westminster starts the week at 4-1 overall this season and 1-0 in RMAC play. They are coming off a win at Colorado Mesa on Sunday. The Griffins are 1-1 at home this season and were defeated by Dixie State, 1-0-, in their last home game on September 13.
 
Through the opening five games of the season Westminster is scoring 1.20 goals per game with three assists on six total goals.  They are attempting 14.6 shots per game and lead the RMAC by putting 8.6 shots on goal per outing.
 
Madison Roemer has a team-best seven points with three goals and one assist. All three of her goals are game-winning tallies. Tiana Cerciello has one goal and one assist for three points. Heidi Lorschider and Alexis Sims have the team's other two goals. Roemer and Cerciello have each taken 15 shots with Roemer putting 10 on goal.
 
Westminster has recorded four shutouts on the season and they are second in the RMAC with a 0.20 goals-against-average. Griffin keepers have combined for a .917 save percentage with 11 saves and 23 shots faced while allowing just one goal.
 
Breanna Empey has started and earned the decision in all five games of the season. Empey has a 0.21 GAA and .917 save percentage. Hillary Weixler has made one appearance without allowing a goal or making a save.
 
Historic Season for Women's Soccer
• The 2016 season is the 10th season of competition for the Westminster women's soccer program. The Griffins have gone 100-67-13 (.592) all-time and they have recorded six straight seasons with at least 10 wins. The Griffins recorded the 100th win in program history at Colorado Mesa on Sunday.
 
One Goal Only
• Westminster hasn't allowed an opponent to score multiple goals in a game at Dumke Field since October 20, 2013. During that 19-game span the team is 14-3-2 with 10 shutouts. They have outscored the opposition 36-9 in those games and they have allowed just two goals in the past seven home games.
 
Trio of Winners
Madison Roemer currently leads the team with three goals and seven points. The senior scored the game-winning-goal in the first three games of the season and currently leads the RMAC and NCAA in that category. That streak of three straight games with a goal is tied for the fifth-longest streak in team history. Roemer is tied for the team lead with 15 shots and has a team-best 10 shots on goal. She is third in the RMAC in both goals and points per game.
 
Up the Charts
• With those three goals this season Roemer has moved into a tied for eighth in team history with 12 career goals. She also ranks ninth with 29 career points and third with seven game-winning goals. Roemer can also be found in the Westminster top-10 in shots (80) and shots on goal (42).
 
Creating Chances
Tiana Cerciello is second on the team with three points and she scored her first goal of the season at Colorado Mesa to notch her second career game-winner. Cerciello is tied for the team lead with 15 shots and she has put nine of those attempts on goal.
 
Constant Presence
• Senior Maddie Lewis has started all five games at defense for the Griffins this season and she is the only player to play al 450 minutes of action. Lewis has now played in 57 consecutive games and made 55 straight starts. Lewis ranks eighth in team history with 5,065 minutes played and she is fourth all-time with those 55 straight starts.
 
Solid Start
Breanna Empey has started all five games in goal for the Griffins and posted a 0.21 GAA and .917 save percentage. She has a 4-1 record with three shutouts on the year against 23 shots faced. Before allowing a goal to Dixie State on September 13, Empey went 345:04 minutes between goals allowed, which is the sixth-longest streak in team history.

• Westminster and Western State have gone 0-0-1 all-time when facing each other.
• That tie was a 2-2 decision in Gunnison last October.
• The Mountaineers begin the week with a 3-2-1 overall record and 1-0 in conference.
