LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The Westminster women's basketball team used a pair of 3-pointers from
Mika Pinner in the final minute to help them to a 75-68 win at New Mexico Highlands in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on Friday night.

Westminster (8-12, 5-11 RMAC) scored the final 13 points of the night to turn a six-point deficit into a victory. They tied the game with 49 seconds to play on a Pinner three. After forcing a turnover on the next New Mexico Highlands (3-18, 1-15) possession,
Riley Reidhead made a pair of free throws to put the Griffins in front by two with 29 seconds to play.

The defense came up with another stop on the next possession and then Pinner connected with her third triple of the night to secure the Griffins victory. Reidhead would hit four more free throws down the stretch for the final margin.

It was
Aubrie Vale that carried the Griffins offensive in the first half. The junior scored 11 of her game-high 19 points before halftime on 5 of 6 shooting. That sparked the team to 53.6 percent shooting in the half, but they trailed 39-38 at intermission.

Westminster finished the game shooting 44.3 percent and they had a 45-36 edge in rebounds. They recorded an assist on 17 of 27 made baskets with 26 points in the paint. The Griffins held NMHU to 35.3 percent shooting to help overcome forcing just six turnovers.

Reidhead used those late free throws and three triples to help her score a career-high 17 points. Pinner added 12 points and
Jessica Sorensen finished with eight points and 13 rebounds.

NMHU had five players score in double figures with Giulia Simioni leading the Cowgirls with 14 points.
