SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Westminster men's basketball team came up empty in both games of their weekend trip in South Dakota after falling to Black Hills State, 81-77, on Saturday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.

Westminster (13-10, 9-10 RMAC) couldn't take advantage of 53.7 percent shooting as they lost for the second straight night. Black Hills State (11-12, 9-10) used 10 threes to complete the season sweep of the Griffins.

After taking a 45-44 lead into the halftime break, the Griffins were able to push the advantage to 53-46 early in the second half. The Yellow Jackets would score the next seven points to tie the game and then eventually lead 68-66 with 4:48 to play.

Marcus Bryce hit a 3-pointer on the ensuing Griffin possession to put Westminster back in front 69-68. That would be their final lead of the night as BHSU went on a 7-0 run in the following two minutes to put the game out of reach.

Quincy Bair scored 20 points to lead the Griffins. It was his third 20-point outing of the season and it came on 8 of 13 shooting with five rebounds.

Along with their hot shooting from the field, Westminster made 12 of 24 from beyond the arc. That is the most threes made by the team in a game this season. The Griffins recorded 15 assists with just nine turnovers and scored 24 points in the paint.

Bryce added a career high 17 points with six rebounds and one blocked shot.
Kenny Woodard scored 13 points off the bench.

Black Hills State shot 47.5 percent from the field and made 10 of 25 from deep. They grabbed 15 offensive rebounds which resulted in 29 points.

Riley Ryan led five Yellow Jackets in double figures with 15 points. Fraser Malcolm added 14 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
