GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Westminster men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at Colorado Mesa on Wednesday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.

Westminster (3-9, 2-7) RMAC) dropped both games to Colorado Mesa (9-1-3, 8-0-1) this season.

It didn't take long for the Mavericks to take the lead as Malik Mennana scored in the fifth minute on a feed from Kevin Del Mazo on just the second shot of the contest.

After
Max Medley made three saves over the next 20 minutes, CMU extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal from Roy Abergil. Moshe Perez crossed the ball to Abergil for the goal.

Abergil would add the game's final tally in the 52nd minute when he converted a penalty kick for his 17th goal of the season.

Westminster would begin to apply pressure over the final 30 minutes as the Griffins took six of their nine shot attempts during that stretch. They finished the game with four shots on goal and they took five corner kicks.

Blaze Nelson fired three shots to lead the Griffins while
Cristian Alfaro attempted two. Medley finished the game with a career high 11 saves in defeat.

The Griffins are now off until Sunday when they face Colorado State University – Pueblo at noon in Pueblo, Colo.
