SALT LAKE CITY – It was another strong performance in the classroom for the student-athletes at Westminster College during the fall semester. The 267 student-athletes that make up the 17 Griffin teams combined for a 3.352 grade-point-average (GPA) during the semester.

This marks the 10th straight semester the group had posted a GPA above 3.2 and the 3.352 is the second-highest recorded by the group since the 2008-09 academic year. It is only the sixth time the GPA has been 3.3 or higher with three of those coming in the past four semesters.

"On behalf of our student-athletes I'm pleased to recognize their academic achievements," Westminster Director of Athletics
Shay Wyatt said. "These results demonstrate how our student-athletes effectively manage their academics and busy schedules. Congratulations to our student-athletes for continuing the tradition of meeting the academic standards set forth by our institution."

There were 25 Westminster student-athletes that finished with a 4.0 GPA during the semester – the second-highest total all-time – with 9.4 percent achieving the mark. They set a record with 132 student-athletes recording a GPA of 3.5 of higher which accounted for 49.4 percent of the group.

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference named three Griffins Academic All-Conference from fall sports teams. Amara Culpepper (volleyball),
Erin Kibler (cross country), and
Sean Lyne (men's soccer), were each chosen for the academic award. The conference named another 20 Griffins to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll during the fall sports season.
