SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's volleyball team was wept in three sets by Regis in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on Friday night in the Behnken Field House.
Westminster (4-8, 1-3 RMAC) couldn't keep up with the offensive attack from the visiting squad and fell 25-16, 25-15, 25-20. Regis (6-5, 3-0) finished the match with a 48-32 advantage in kills and they hit .327 while holding the home Griffins to .144.
Amara Culpepper led the Griffins with eight kills and the sophomore finished the match hitting .300. She also recorded one digs and one block. Jaden green added seven kills and four digs with
Alyse Horton going for six kills and nine digs.
Jacey Saunders had 17 assists and five digs and
Megan Gallegos got nine digs.
The Griffins had 35 digs as a team and they posted an 8-7 edge in blocks.
Katie Allen mad a team-best four blocks.
Regis came out strong in the opening set with 16 kills and .467 hitting. Westminster had 12 kills with .212 hitting in the set. The second stanza saw Regis hold Westminster to negative .031 hitting with only seven kills while getting 14 kills themselves. The Griffins would post 13 kills in the third set with Regis getting 18 and hitting .295.
Westminster returns to action on Saturday as they host Chadron State in the Behnken Field house at 7 p.m.
